The Forge Tavern - history and details

This was the site of the medieval Heath Mill.

There has been a public house at the corner of Fazeley Street and Great Barr Street since at least the 1850s.

Liverpool Street (to the right of the pub) leads to the Birmingham Central Bus Garage.

While Heath Mill Lane (opposite the pub) leads to the Custard Factory.

It is close to the Duddeston Viadcut (built in Victorian times but never completed).

In recent years it was an Irish pub.

But it lost it's licence after a fatal stabing.

Since The Forge Tavern closed, it has been turned into a Cuban Bar called Son Caney Bar.
